Kniphofia (Red hot Poker) ‘Tawny King’ 2 litre tall
More widely known as Red hot Pokers – growing to 3 feet this perennial is loved by insects and birds alike. They have been grown throughout the UK for a very long time, but it has only just been realised that they naturally grow on the edges and banks of water. If they are in a moist planting situation they will assume a new vibrance and repeat flower with vigour and gusto.
This is the ‘Tawny King’ is is a free-flowering perennial to 1.2m tall, with narrow leaves and dense spikes of dull orange buds opening to cream flowers from mid summer to early autumn.
