Yellow Horned Poppy – Galucium Flavum – 2 litre pot

This is our wonderful drought tolerant native seaside Poppy with superb orangey yellow flowers from June to September.  Growing in most coastal regions of the UK this gorgeous plant has the most lovely blue/grey/silvery serrated leaves which means it is completely garden worthy before it is in flower.

Left to grow, it will achieve a height of around  60cm and becomes a mound of prickly buds which open in abundance, before producing seed pods 15-30 cm after flowering.  I think the seed pods give huge interest and seem to last well into the autumn and are interestingly sickle shaped.
