Solanum Glasnevin – Potato Vine – Large Pot

Solanum is a very impressive semi-evergreen climber which just cannot help but produce a mass of purple or white flowers during the summer months.

This is a very woody climber, needing sturdy support and will quickly cover fences and sheds in an arching explosion of stems and flowers.  I never quite think its a climber – more an opportunist!

Not suitable for a small space or a very cold north facing wall or fence, but perfectly happy here at Enchanted Gardens where it is planted within Mandy’s Woodland Garden, where it is having to be pruned quite regularly and thriving amongst the other climbers.
