Kniphofia (Red hot Poker) Royal Standard’ – 3 litre pot

More widely known as Red hot Pokers – growing to 3 feet this perennial is loved by insects and birds alike. They have been grown throughout the UK for a very long time, but it has only just been realised that they naturally grow on the edges and banks of water. If they are in a moist planting situation they will assume a new vibrancy and repeat flower with vigour and gusto.

Kniphofia Royal Standard is an evergreen perennial,  with stout stems and fat spikes of flowers opening deep coral-red, from yellow buds. A lovely long-lived perennial looks tremendously dramatic when repeat planted in a vibrant “Hot colours” border.
