SEA LAVENDER – Limonium Latifolium – 2 litre pot

This stunning perennial is for those gardeners gardening in a Coastal Garden giving an element of “naturalness” although it is not a UK native wildflower, it does look like one.

So, if you are gardening on free draining sandy soil away from the coast this wonderful plant gives a stunning change from Verbena Bonariensis with structure, movement and elegance.  If, like me you are gardening on heavy clay, as long as you don’t plant in a wet and soggy winter position, still plant it and gain its branching lavender coloured sprays of flowers in the herbaceous border.

Growing to 60-80 cm from a large rosette of broad shaped leaves, I love the fact that it is really very tough and hardy easily managing minus temperatures wherever you are gardening in the UK.

Of course, you know I am going to have some connection to pollinators or it would not be here at The Enchanted Gardens – This plant is Loved by all Butterflies so helps nature too. It will be visited and fed on by other pollinating insects too so it will just add to any garden grown with nature and pollinators in mind.
