PLANNING YOUR NEW BORDER IN SHADE – 30th MAY 2pm till 4 pm
In this 2 hour workshop we will explore the relationship between the design and planting in a shade/partial shade situation. Whoever you are, this workshop will help you to understand and translate the language of planting into your garden regardless of size.
We will learn about moist and dry shade and the methodical understanding of trees, shrubs and perennials in the analogy of the physical body, which is just the quirky way Donna views planting borders; with Background, Bones, Muscle, skin and outfit to finish.
Donna often says “A border is a musical composition from our mind and spirit either painted onto canvas or for those of us who can’t paint – planted into our garden”
We will learn temperature, soil and the role of individual taste within the artistic creation of a garden border.
Q & A are always part of this workshop, but need to be kept for the end.
Pen and paper for notes is important, for you to take away the concepts and integrate into your own shady border at home.
Tea/Coffee and homemade cake are always available, either before we begin our learning or afterwards.
