FRITILLARIA PERSICA – PERSIAN LLLY – 2 BULBS – £14.00

I have yet to grow this stunning bulb and not immediately hand it over to a gardener that simply falls in love – something about the darkness of the 30 or so bells which are produced in a pinnacle on grey-green leaves.  It produces gorgeous unusual foliage and them the flowers on very robust stems in late May/June to a height of 90-120cm.

Originally from the Middle East countries the bulb itself is completely hardy and tough in the UK, and will go on for years and years as long as they are not planted in the wet.  Even on heavy clay they cope very well.  They feed our beloved pollinators too and I don’t expect they will be in stock for long…..
