ENCHANTED ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
Featuring: Rob Turner
Rob has led a hugely successful art practice over many years. At the centre of Rob’s practice is community and he has considerable skills in working with local people and civic groups to make art works that are relevant and joyful. Rob has also worked with architects, planners , wildlife trusts, NHS Trusts, schools and a broad range of cultural organizations. Examples of Rob’s work can be found in residential developments, public parks and gardens, town squares, heritage sites, shopping plazas, play spaces, nature reserves and public buildings all over the UK.
Workshops at The Enchanted Gardens
Rob has a particular interest in our changing attitudes and relationship with nature and fostering the connection between people and nature through art. He can provide arts/craft workshop sessions for all abilities and age groups, working with organised groups such as visiting schools, community clubs or special interest groups. Family sessions or informal ‘drop in’ style workshops can also be provided as one element of a wider events day with other family activities going on. Rob realises that not everyone is interested in, or confident with drawing and many participants prefer to construct models. So expect to find plasticine, balsa wood, coloured pipe cleaners, split pins, mosaic tiles, cardboard as well as felt pens and pencils available.
Rob’s workshops are not ‘how to draw’ or ‘how to make’. Instead Rob encourages participants to develop their own ideas and enables creative projects to grow within the group. Starting points are identified and construction solutions discussed, perhaps working with an individual on a specific piece to take home or produce a collective co-authored group piece for public display.
