Sambucus Nigra varigatum (5l)
A wonderful shrub, this variety is the most stable and less likely to “revert” back and produce non variegated leaves. It is completely hardy, easy to prune back and happy anywhere as its essentially an ELDER. Large flat heads of tiny white flowers, turning to black berries in the Autumn. Flowers June-September. Height 2 -3 m, spread 2-3 m in canopy. Can be planted in a pot. Adds a lovely element of cream, white and lime green as foliage colours. Use the berries in the autumn to make Elderberry Wine or in the springtime the flowers can easily be made into Elderflower cordial. Delicious.
