Ratibida Columnifera – or “MEXICAN HAT” – 2 in a 9 cm

We first grew these years ago, very quirky little chaps make great gap fillers in the border.  They flower in the thousands small Mexican sombrero like flowers with a very tall central cone.  They are useful for cutting flowers consisting of six or seven dark red petals surrounding a very prominently raised central brown “cone”.

They like sunny dry areas and  are easy to look after.

Flowers July – October.

Best grown as an annual but if you can’t be bothered to shift them at the end of the year, don’t worry, they’re true perennials and will produce a crop of flowers yearly for as long as you want! 4ft (1.2m)
