Pumpkin Spitfire F1 x 2 (9cm)

Another F1 sorry!

Small fruited but highly productive, producing numerous bright orange pumpkins with firm, sweet tasting flesh, ideal for roasting, pumpkin pie or for carving.

Keep well watered, pinch out growing tips after 6 -7 fruits have set.

Harvest Sept-November.

Sowing.

Indoors, April-May, 1.5 cm down, keep 15-20 centigrade, hared off late May, plant out June, sapce 3 feet apart.

Outdoors, may-June, 2 per hole, 1.5 cm down, allow 90cm between positions, thin out strongest.

Did you know when Irish immigrants moved to the U.S., they began carving jack-o’-lanterns from pumpkins, as these were native to the region. We’ve been carving pumpkins—or turnips—ever since.
