Oregano (9cm pot)

Oregano is a flowering plant in the mint family (Lamiaceae) and  is considered a staple herb in many cuisines around the world. It has a stronger flavour than Majoram and is its wild cousin, bringing warmth to dishes, along with a hint of subtle sweetness. It can be found fresh, dried or as an oil, and all are said to have significant health benefits. The plant has tiny leaves that lend a pungent aroma and strong flavor to a variety of savory foods. When in bloom, the plant sports pink or purple flowers, which are also edible and irresistable to all pollinators.  It can be used at the front of a sunny border as a beautiful edible carpet of colour, or can also be kept in pots.  They like a nice dry sunny aspect.
