Lupin Seeds

Another old fashioned plant you might have seen in your Grandma’s garden. they are making a come back with ever fancier hybridized varieties. We prefer the basic types and colours as we are only growing for the insects. Our plants are self-seeded and we are not sure of the variety, probably a “Russell type”, so we will get back to you on this.

If starting indoors,  soak the seeds in water for 24 hours, we find this really helps. The seeds should be sown in late February to early April.  Don’t sow too deeply, and maintain a coolish soil temperature of 12-18°C (55-65°F). Seeds should germinate in 14-60 days. Be patient – they are worth waiting for.
