Aster Monch – 2 litres
Masses of lavender-blue flowers, this is our medium sized Aster for late food for the pollinators and colour for gardeners. Monch grows to around 1 metre tall only which makes it very solid and stable, they expand to form a nice clump up to 50 cm wide too. Aster Monch flowers very well and has an added benefit of not being quite as susceptible to mildew as asters unfortunately are. This pretty star like daisy flowers solidly from August and September. This is an easy-to-grow, spreading perennial with a basal rosette of hairy, grey-green leaves. The flowers have narrow, needle-like petals which radiate from the central crown attracting bees, butterflies and all pollinators to your garden. We have had trouble growing from seed – its quite tricky but we always try and have lots of stock plants throughout the garden to make fresh plants from.
